Meet the Founders -  Kamalika & Sreeparna

Two sisters - almost twins, but not really - set out to express their styling ideas and fashion designs in the world.

We were 8 and 15 when we first started designing. A love of art and fashion and adoration for Barbie Dolls inspired us sisters to sketch beautifully detailed doll dresses. We would then go on to stitch up the ensembles ourselves - imperfectly perfect in their own way, but definitely unique. Of course Mom dearest would always be there to help.

We would forage all over the house in search of spare materials for designing our fashionable doll dresses -  Mom's and GrandMa's wardrobes were regularly raided and sometimes the neighboring tailor uncle was kind enough to gift us spare fabric bits from his shop.

We dreamt of one day becoming fashion designers and bringing out our artsy ideas to the world!

But of course, the Universe had other plans for us... 

And like so many, we ended up in the corporate world.

It however gave us the opportunity to travel across India and abroad where we picked up various aspects of different cultures, customs, aesthetics and traditional ensembles which broadened our minds and helped us to connect the dots and express them through art.

The passion for fashion nevertheless, was far from extinguished!

So in 2022 finally, we quit their MNC jobs and decided to follow our childhood dreams - thus leading to....drum rolls please.....Quirky Kanya - where art meets fashion!

Fashion icons like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe, Jnanadanandini Debi, Sharmila Tagore, Zeenat Aman propelled us to bring back the styling aesthetics of the past and stir up a fusion wear treat with the fashion trends of today.

At Quirky Kanya, we focus on maintaining quality and selecting designs that are chic yet functional no matter the size. Each item is curated or hand crafted with a lot of care. We prefer using fabrics that are soft and comfortable and ensure a 360 degree quality check of the materials before delivery.
